It went very well and I'm a happy customer. Mark showed me how good the rest of the unit looks after opening it up so we could look all around. He had brought the new suspension parts in his van so the repair could happen on the first visit. Mark is personable and efficient and within an hour he was done. I will call him for any future appliance repair needs.

Vendor returned my telephone call & email messages within 24-hr period, however vendor red lines the entire Detroit area even though my home is easily less than 20 minutes from their location. Therefore my rating is solely based on their return of my service call & emails, including my conversation with representative.

Our dishwasher would not run and the control panel did not light up. We called on November 8 and got an appointment for the following day. Mark came out during the window given and quickly diagnosed that there was a blown fuse. As we had an older model, the part did have to be ordered and came in over the weekend. On the 12th, Mark was back inside of the promised service window to replace the fuse and we now have a working appliance again.

Technician arrived on time. He was professional and courteous. He demonstrated knowledge of the issue by inspecting the unit and evaluating possible areas of trouble. After testing and evaluating, it was decided that the contactor relay switch needed to be replaced.

I called Appliance Doctor as a result of being dissatisfied with the previous repair company. I had called Mary's Appliances before because my oven wasn't working. Nothing worked except the burners (range). They came out and repaired the oven...sort of. After they left, I discovered that although the oven was working, the broiler wasn't, so I called them back because it had only been partially repaired. However, their view was that I had only told them that the oven wasn't working; I hadn't mentioned the broiler; therefore, for them to come out again would be a new service call. I thought this was unfair; I had no idea that fixing the oven wouldn't fix the broiler also. After a bit of arguing, they said if they came out again, they'd waive the $65 service call but not the repair fee. I was not happy with their service, so I looked elsewhere, and that's when I found Appliance Doctor. Even paying for the service call with Appliance Doctor was the same price as Mary's Appliance was with the service call fee waived, so I definitely preferred to try someone I might like as opposed to someone I knew I didn't like. Everything went well -- the repair person came out on time and promptly fixed the broiler, and he was pleasant to deal with. After he was done, I asked him: "If I had called you and told you the oven was broken, and you came and fixed it, and I called you back and said the broiler still wasn't working, would you charge me to come back out and fix it?" He replied, "No, I would not charge you for the service call. I would charge you for the part, but not the call." *That's* what I would expect from an appliance repair service, not the treatment I got from Mary's Appliance. Recently, my washer needed to be repaired, and remembering my good experience with Appliance Doctor, I called them to ask them to come out and fix my washer. Sadly, they no longer service my area.

Mark came out, looked at my ice maker and knew exactly what was wrong. It took him less than 10 minutes to pull it out and fix it. He waited until it completed its cycle to make sure it was going to put water in the actual ice tray rather than in the bin where it's been being turned into a block of ice. I have cubes again! He told me if something happened again and it needed a part, to call him and he'd come back out, change the part and just charge me for that rather than another service call. I would absolutely recommend him for repairs!

Great - he suggested I try to get the mfg to fix it for free since it sounded like something covered in a recall, so I did that. When that didn't completely fix it, they came out and only charged $95 to fix it.

Mark came out and plugged it back in again after we had tried that and it started working! Lasted about 2 days and quit again - he ordered the panel on front of freezer and was back out quickly and installed within minutes. Also gave us pointers on our front loading washer. He deducted the first visit from our total cost. Very happy with the Appliance Dr.!

He was very polite and courteous. Was always on time, has a unique way of scheduling. When I was sure what was happening, he was helpful enough to try and help me fix it over the phone or at least try to diagnose the problem at no charge! There were a few phone calls such as this at no charge. Then we came to the conclusion that I needed a new ice maker, then called again to make sure that everything was working correctly. Then it stopped working, so he came out in an appropriate time to find the issue. Got it fixed and he did all of this for just $75!

Interesting, they say they service "all areas" but when you call them...they don't. They should update their profile with the areas they truly cover. My property is located less than 20 mins from their office. They told me that they service an area that is almost one hour from their office, but not my location which is only 20 mins...

Our self-cleaning double-oven shut off in mid-cycle, leaving the door locked (which meant that we could not tell anyone the model number for service) and no display. Wayne fit us into his schedule the same day as our call. He arrived promptly at the appointment time, pulled the oven, disassembled the control panel, and determined the cause of the problem, all within about 10 minutes. Fortunately, it was only a thermal fuse. He checked his supply on his truck, did an internet search to confirm that the part was correct for our 20+ year-old oven, and installed it. The unit was reassembled and back in the wall within 30 minutes of his arrival (your time may vary). Additionally, he offered suggestions to avoid this problem in the future (don't use the self-cleaning feature on a unit this old, because the fan might not work as well as it should). He also checked the actual temperature of both ovens and re-calibrated the unit. He left the area exactly as it was when he arrived. We're very satisfied with this experience, and we will use them again for future service calls.

I called and was told they did not cover Rochester Hills, but they did refer me to a great technician in my area. Only a great company would refer you to competitor. I cannot speak for their service, but I'm impressed.

The company was very professional and on time. Good communication. They could not resolve the problem so I had to contact another appliance repair company who was able to resolve the issue.

Repair person was able to adjust igniter on oven so that it consistently lights. On the control panel, he was able to clean the contacts and it worked fine. The cooktop was another story but not the fault of the repair person. He found the leaks in the valves and manifold that sends the gas to the burners. However, he discovered that parts were no longer available for the unit. Manufacturer has discontinued. What I appreciated most was that the repair person was ON TIME and conducted business in a reasonable manner. He was very knowledgeable with over 35 years of experience. In the last 10 years or so, I cannot tell you how many times I was stood up by a repair person or they were very late. Also, whoever answered the phone at Appliance Doctor was extremely courteous, knowledgeable and professional. A little bit of customer service goes a long way with me. Oh and I appreciated the fact they have business hours outside of Monday through Friday, 8 to 5.

I initially called a couple of places, and this was the first to be able to respond. Unfortunately, there are a lot of appliance out there, and apparently not a lot of people able to fix them, so it took a couple of days. In any case, it ended well. The refrigerator compartment was getting too cold freezing everything, and the freezer was not able to keep anything solidly frozen. The first service technician came out and did the normal look and said the vents were slightly blocked. He cleaned up the ice at the port and called it good. He was very nice and seemed thorough, but I was initially annoyed, as I knew that was not the issue. When the problem came right back, I called again in a couple of days. This time the owner himself came out. He recognized that this particular model was one that was susceptible to getting the cold air flow passages that were not visible frozen up. He said it often happened when the ice maker was put on its high mode while the door for the ice container was on. A few weeks before was the only time we had ever run the ice maker on its high mode(never again). He ran hot water through all the passages to melt the ice in them and recommended we leave the door off the ice compartment. I feel confident that if it were not such an unusual problem, the first guy would have solved the issue, and will call these guys the next time I need help with an appliance.

First of all, the scheduling system is excellent at the Appliance Doctor Service. I called in the morning (left message before they opened). They called back 5 minutes after their 9:00 opening time - awesome! After politely taking down my info, they confirmed they could give me an appointment the same day. About 40 minutes later, Mark, the technician, called back to confirm an actual time window in the afternoon. This system was efficient and allowed me to plan my day. Once at the house, the 2-man crew (Mark and Alec) diagnosed the problem by observing the leak and then disassembling the dishwasher to confirm the diagnosis. By taking the time to disassemble the unit, they discovered an even easier (and cheaper!) way to fix the problem -- i.e. they replaced a simple hose clamp instead of an expensive o-ring seal. They reassembled and ran the washer to confirm the leak was gone. They were done in less than 1 hour. Everyone I dealt with was polite and pleasant, and Mark patiently answered all my technical questions during the service call. Overall, it was a great experience.
