Indiana girls basketball sectional semifinals roundup: Indy-area scores, highlights, stats (2023)

The Indiana high school girls basketball state tournament resumes Friday night with sectional semifinals across the state.

Fishers 67, Noblesville 64, 2OT

Hailey Smith converted a 3-point play with 24.9 seconds left in the second overtime period, then Fishers forced steals on back-to-back inbounds to knock off defending Class 4A champion Noblesville, 67-64, and advance to Saturday’s Sectional 8 championship game. Hailey finished with 15 points, while twin sister Olivia added a team-high 22.

At Bloomington South, Aubrey Booker and Audry Annee teamed up for 23 points to help the 4A No. 9 Trojans (20-4) win their 16th straight game in knocking off the Cougars to earn a matchup with Mooresville in the championship contest. Booker led the way with 13 points as Center Grove kept alive its hopes of the school’s first girls’ sectional crown since 2018-19.

Franklin’s win was the Cubs’ seventh straight, while Whiteland notched its first winning season since 2018-19.

At Owen Valley, the 3A No. 5 Braves (24-1) routed the Western Indiana Conference rival Mustangs (4-19) for the second time this season, building a 41-12 halftime lead and cruising behind junior standouts Lauren Foster and Faith Wiseman, who combine for 34 points. Indian Creek will match up with a third straight conference rival in the finals when the Braves collide with Northview.
